We will be showing the full movie on the Hubs’ own big screen.

Popcorn will be provided by us and WAM members may bring along Family and Friends.

Magic Swop

8th October

A new concept for WAM. This is the format: Everyone brings along the props to perform a trick. However, it’s for you to teach that trick to a random member of the club. And in turn you will also be taught a new trick.

We are hoping that the close-uppers will learn a kids’ trick and the kids entertainers perform a card trick. Then we all get to see the results.

The Paul Draper Lecture

22nd October

Act Doctor

5th November

Hosted by Doctor Shortland. This is a very popular night and customarily over subscribed. Each act will be given 15 minutes, including the performance time. This means that the longer you perform, the less time is available for advice.

At the end of your performance you have the opportunity to ask up to three doctors for their prognosis.

All ‘junior doctors’ present will write down their thoughts and suggestions on enhancing your performance, which you will receive after your appointment. You are then free to discuss these thoughts with the ‘junior doctors’ in your own time.

Quiz Night

19th November

This evening the main hall will be unavailable for our use.

So, Lee Bell will be hosting a fun quiz in the café.

The Luke Jermay Lecture

3rd December

Luke Jermay is a creative force. He has consulted for some of the biggest names in magic, and has appeared on the biggest stages all over the world with his mind reading show.

Which is why it is such a treat to welcome him to WAM for the very first time.

WAM Children’s Entertainer of the Year competition

On FRIDAY 27th December from 3pm-5pm.

You are invited to join us for the Children’s Entertainer of the Year. Which promises to be packed with Magical mayhem.

Bring a Trick (Openers)

21st January

A bring a trick night (BAT) on openers.

An ideal opportunity for all genres of magic. Why not show us your opening effect?

Fool Us

4th February

Mick Ramsden will be organising the line-up for our very own Penn & Teller.

Mark Chudley & Mark Shortland will be in the hot seats.

With Graham Ralph hosting the whole night.

Speed Dating

18th February

The format is very simple for Speed Dating, hosted by Keith Harrison.

Two chairs/one table ‘per couple’. One of you performs a trick lasting no longer than four minutes. Then the other partner does the same. Followed by four minutes of chat. This could be to add an idea, suggest different handling or patter, or even teach a move. The choice is up to you.

Comedy Night

4th March

This is the one night of the year, when we want absolutely no magic.

Just a stand-up comedy routine between 2 and 8 minutes.

Whose Line Is It Anyway?

18th March

Kurtis Whitehead hosts a brand new evening (for WAM) with improvisational fun & games.

Speed Dating

1st April

This event is definitely happening, (or is it?) … No it’s not … but it could be. So, join us for Puzzles, Gotchas and Bar Bets.

Desert Island Tricks

29th April

Yes, that’s right they have all been on our Desert Island, in recent years.
The evening’s speakers are always top secret but expect two interviews, one with a WAM member and the other a surprise guest.
